Puff Pastry Breakfast (24 Oct 2009)

Got some leftover puff pastry dough? Why not turn it into a nice breakfast for two!

Just roll out the pastry in a well-floured surface and form it into a rectangle shape. Work on the short end of the rectangle and start layering the filling. Make sure to leave about 1/3 of an inch around the filling for sealing the pastry.

In this case, we started with a cheddar cheese in the bottom. We added some scrambled eggs, chives, salt and pepper. Then it was topped off with pieces of sliced ham.

Brush the edges of the pastry with water or Fold over the other half of the pastry until it completely covers the filling. You may need to do a little bit of stretching to make the edges of the dough match. Then crimp the edges with a fork to seal all that yummy goodness.
